System Description
Partial automated sorting system for returnable beverage crates and
EPS foldable trays. Incoming returnable containers arrive mainly on
Euro and half pallets and must be manually unloaded due to mixed crate
types. Additional quantities arrive in roll containers.
Main Functions
- Identification and sorting of various returnable crate types
- Deposit value calculation per crate based on pallet barcode
- Sorting of bottles into 20-unit and 24-unit module crates
- Automatic unpacking of EPS trays with bottles using Inlet systems
- Handling of up to 440 crate types
- Sorting of standing bottles inside EPS trays with Inlets
- Allocation of sorted crates for automated palletizing or manual
handling
Capacity and Performance
- Total annual throughput: 6.5 million crates
- Operation: 2 shifts per day, 5 days per week
- Average throughput: 1,625 crates per hour
- Peak throughput: up to 2,400 units per hour
- Robot sorting performance: average 276 units per hour (51 crates +
225 EPS trays)
- System designed for 98 pallet storage positions
